Fail, Fail, Fail

Do you recall this photo from a previous blog post?
WELL...

This striped Micarta stuff is not good to machine - it ends up "fuzzy". I don't really want to sell fuzzy - so I'm going to write it off unfortunately. Maybe something can be done - but I'm going to leave it for now.

Out of interest, this is what it looks like in a Turtle:

P.S. If you're into sliding essentially what feels like carpet, then I can make some for you.

P.P.S. This Stripe Micarta is from a new supplier - I'll see if I can get hold of another supplier.

Mokume Turtle

This slider has come out really nicely and will be offered to someone on the Exotic Slider Waitlist in the next day or so.

What I like about this is that the Mokume pattern is visible behind the Skelly Zirconium plates...

NEW "Product Request" Button

I've started trialing a new thing on the website where, if a product is SOLD OUT, you can click the button below it and request we offer you the product when we next have one available.

It looks like this:
As with pretty much everything I do ...it's an experiment. We'll see how it goes.

Equidistant Vs. Non-Equidistant Magnet Layout

We're starting to get more questions about the two different magnet layouts (as newer people get on board and are not so familiar with the evolution of the Sliders over the last few years).

Here's a video explaining it:
And here's a visual guide too:
People have described the Equidistant Layout as feeling more "secure" when the plates are in the above position.

I (personally) don't differentiate between the two as I'm more of a just-do-a-basic-slide-and-click moves kinda guy - so they feel similar in how I play with sliders.

Any chance you could make some more Sweeps with the X plates??? I wasn’t able to score one when you dropped a few with the Swiss.

An ultra lite Sweep with X plates or Zirc skelly would be too sexy… but less anno and stuff. What makes them so beautiful is the simple but elegant lines

I want one so bad

Tim McCoy,

I wonder if a clear epoxy or some finish could seal the Mcarta or maybe the Wideboy would fair better being machined? Anyway I love the look of that bright colorful Mcarta!!

JB,

Sales are clearly declining.
There’s no reason to buy a Pizet that depreciates by at least 30% the moment you buy it, especially when dozens are released daily.
It seems many fans have already left.
This approach won’t get us through the year.
Since we have good equipment, switching to subcontracting for automotive parts processing seems like a good idea.

HAHA,

When will the new mini Atoms be ready for sale? I’m eagerly awaiting those!
