I've not made any sort of fanfare or such about this NEW slider ...because, honestly, we're just so flat-out busy with various other new designs and materials.

In saying that...

I've been working on this slider on-and-off for around 6 months. There are a few things to unpack with regards to the design.

The stand-out feature of the SideWinder are the wings on each side.

There are three reasons for these wings:

#1 - I wanted to create a slider where the screws (which we make in-house) are more of a feature ...rather than being something we "hide" in the plates.

#2 - The screws go into the Wear Plates ...which mean the plates have no visible holes in them. Holes don't affect the function of the slider - but having no holes definitely looks better.

#3 - The main body of the slider can be made from various materials without titanium inserts or such required ...because there is no threading of the body (the Wear Plates have the threads).

I really wanted to make a slider with a more "technical" look ...hence the visible screws.

As a side note:

We used to have people snapping heads of screws and stripping them and chewing the Torx head ...BUT this was before we started making our own screws in-house. I tried many different makers of the small Titanium screws over the years - and they ranged from terrible to good.

Since making our own screws I can say hands-down: Our Titanium 2-56 Screws are the strongest, tightest tolerance, best-finished non-head-chewing you can buy anywhere.

I've dropped a few of these so far ...and they have all sold out instantly. I am making more right now.

So in the next few days I'm going to do a larger drop of them (because I keep getting emails from people missing out).

We're just finalizing a new method to ensure the anodizing process is more consistent to get that nice "electric blue" look in the rings.
