Hey - It's Magnus here!

If you've somehow never heard of the SkellyVerkk fidget slider ...then you probably need to read THIS page.

I'm going to pull back the curtain on EVERYTHING. The good, the bad and the downright ugly.

How It Started...

Actually, before we dive right in, let's take a look at the SkellyVerkk - here it is:

Truthfully, I can't recall every detail of how the SkellyVerkk slider came about. I do know, before there was the SkellyVerkk, there was the Skelly Coral (The "Coral" version was similar to the sliders above ...but the holes only went partially through the body).

Let's talk about Anthony Kladis ...because, if you don't already know, the SkellyVerkk is a collaboration between Anthony and I. Anthony is a VERY good designer. He has made, sold and shipped thousands of 3D sliders.

One of his most popular designs was the "Verkk".

Now, this is where my memory gets a little hazy...

From what I recall, someone on Facebook suggested a collaboration between Anthony and myself to bring the Verkk to life in metal (Anthony had the design and I had the CNC machines). I believe there was a flurry of comments from other people also wanting to see this collaboration.

Long story short:

Anthony and I made contact and things started moving. We made the Verkk Coral first ...and then, soon after, the SkellyVerkk (probably the fidget world's most infamous slider ...partly due to the fact they often sell for $800+ on the second-hand market!).

Here's Where I REALLY Screwed Up...

I didn't know my numbers (honestly, this is not a strength of mine - to say the least!).

Now, it's a collaboration - so, of course, the price needs to be higher (Anthony needs to be compensated for his design ...and, similarly, it has to be viable for me running a CNC shop to produce them).

So Anthony got a percentage of sales for the collaboration sliders.

The BIG problem:

I did not do my costing properly (I already mentioned I was bad at this side of business, right?).

The result?

I was selling the SkellyVerkk at below what it was costing me to make them ...even before Anthony was compensated. Yes, you really did read that right! I didn't just screw-up my costing a little ...it was so far off it is frankly embarrassing and shameful.

The Fallout

Customers managed to get their SkellyVerkk sliders for a good price - no problem there (for the customers at least).

I slowly realized this was not viable (but it took a long time). I ended up struggling to pay Anthony (which makes sense ...because I was losing money on every SkellyVerkk I made!).

Again, I can't recall the specific details...

Anthony and I had a lot of back and forth, we negotiated a bit, but ultimately -- because the numbers were flawed from the beginning it was unworkable.

2 Years Of Silence

The ugly truth...

Anthony was frustrated with me because I kept trying to lower his percentage (which I now totally get looking back on it). I was frustrated with Anthony because I felt he couldn't see why I was trying to lower his percentage (but again, in hindsight, my numbers were flawed from the start and THAT was the real issue!).

We hit a stalemate.

Neither of us would budge.

Anthony knew his worth as a designer.

I knew my costing didn't work (to get the price of the SkellyVerkk where I wanted it).

Anthony and I did not communicate with each other at all for 2 years.

Demand Went Up And Up

While Anthony and I had our "issues" going on in the background - the demand for the SkellyVerkk just kept going up.

We sold hundreds of them in that first run - but they rarely came up for sale on the used market. When a SkellyVerkk did come up for sale on the secondary market it would typically be something like $600+ or $800+ (and it would sell fast!).

Every so often someone would post in the Facebook group (or email us) asking for us to make more.

But, of course, Anthony and I were at a bit of a stalemate.

But people kept asking ...and asking ...and asking.

Enter Hugh

In case you're not on Facebook - Hugh is our die-hard, dedicated Facebook moderator -- and a few other things behind the scenes -- and an all-round incredible guy. Hugh has been on the scene before fidgets were even a thing!

Hugh had been receiving endless private messages through Facebook asking for the SkellyVerkk to be made again ...and they were getting more frequent.

Here's the crazy thing...

Hugh is very good with people. Hugh managed to persuade me to give the SkellyVerkk another go ...AND also managed to pull out of me what I needed to make it work. At the same time Hugh also started talking with Anthony about what he needed to make it work for him.

Hugh was also able to recognize the headstrong nature of both Anthony and I (not a bad thing) and work his people skills to get something going between Anthony and I.

Anthony and I had some back and forth hammering out the details - we ultimately both compromised in various ways to do what we could to make this work.

The Bad News (Sort Of)

I will be 100% honest with you here...

The price of the SkellyVerkk is a lot higher than it was 2 years ago.

Hopefully what I have written so far explains to you exactly why it needs to be so much higher.

The SkellyVerkk has to be viable for both Anthony and myself. The price is what is needs to be for it to be workable - it's either this ...or it never gets made again. It really is as simple as that.

The Good News (Sort Of)

The SkellyVerkk is happening of course.

We're going to do different materials (Zirconium, Titanium, Copper, Brass ...and maybe some other materials).

But, I must tell you two things:

#1 - The price for all models has to be quite a bit higher than it was originally (I think I already mentioned this)

and

#2 - Because they take so long to make ...the number we can make each week is limited. So, if you miss out (and keep missing out), hang in there!

How To Secure YOUR SkellyVerkk

The initial run of SkellyVerkk sliders were very (VERY) popular ...and that before they became infamous (well, damn near legendary to be honest).

Yes, the cost to secure one is higher than before. But, because you've read this far, you completely understand the unavoidable price increase. The price is what it needs to be for both Anthony as designer and myself as maker - to get the SkellyVerkk to YOU.

I am going to offer the SkellyVerkk in Titanium and Zirconium to start with (and initially just with Zirconium wear plates). Don't worry - there will be more options in bodies and plates coming.

Please understand...

The SkellyVerkk is just ONE of the many different products we make. We have a few machines - and they are all running flat-out (we struggle to have enough capacity). I am doing what what I can to produce as many SkellyVerkk sliders as I can ... but what I can offer is limited.

Here's what you need to know...

Production will be slow and steady. If you miss out ...then please just hang in there and be patient. I will make more.

You can secure your SkellyVerkk by ordering through my "Right To Buy" method below (I explain how "Right To Buy" works in the order area below).

NOTE: If the RTB (or "Right To Buy") is SOLD OUT, then try again later.
